242  - The Vision

During a time of prayer and fasting, one of our team felt the Lord speak to them about seeing a Christian group ran by young people, for young people in every school in Coventry. From there we felt the Lord lead us to begin something that would encourage and equip young people to see this happen! 

When we look at the original church in the book of Acts chapter 2, we see that God used an ordinary community to do some pretty extraordinary things! With the power of the Holy Spirit, they were a community that was truly driven by love, devoted to fellowship and inspired for impact. We firmly believe that there is no ‘junior’ Holy Spirit! We know and trust that every single young believer is capable of being transformed by God, and partnering with him in this same way - to see transformation in their school. 

DEVOTED TO FELLOWSHIP

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals and to prayer.”  - Acts 2:42

These guys weren’t just focused on ‘Me and God’, but they had deep bonds of friendship, centred around their faith in Jesus!  

We trust that the friendships formed in your 242 won’t just be social but Spiritual - Infused with the sweetness that comes with walking with Jesus together! 

DRIVEN BY LOVE

“A deep sense of awe came over them all” – Acts 2:43

The early disciples all had a deep love and wonder for God, what he had accomplished through Jesus, and how his love had been poured out into their hearts through the Holy Spirit.  

This is the heartbeat behind any move of God, and it certainly will be for your School’s 242 group!

Inspired for Impact

“all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” – Acts 2:47

The early believers simply enjoyed God and each other – and God took care of the rest! He empowered them to live lives like Jesus – loving others through good deeds and telling others about him… The result – worldwide transformation. 

If Jesus can change the world through the early disciples, He can change your school through your 242 group! God can work through you to bring hope, love, and transformation to your classmates and teachers. With His power and for His glory, you can see your school turned upside-down for His Kingdom!
